hep Publishes First Sustainability Report
Importance of Environment, Society and Governance for Entrepreneurial Action

The Baden-Württemberg-based solar company hep published its first sustainability report on 09.03.21. The report is an important milestone for the globally active and successful solar and investment company after signing the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) and joining the Forum for Responsible Investment (FNG) in 2020.
Sustainable Corporate Approach
Solar energy is indispensable for a sustainable future. hep’s business model is aligned with the global sustainability goal of “expanding renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions“. In 2020 alone, hep solar parks produced around 44.155 megawatt hours of solar electricity worldwide. As a result, more than 33.9 kilotons of CO2 emissions were avoided that would otherwise have been generated by fossil fuel power production.
First Sustainability Report
With this sustainability report, hep provides an overview of its sustainability-related activities for the first time. It reports on measures taken and targeted to make material consumption more efficient and resource-conversing. Aspects of good corporate governance and in the social sphere are also addressed.

We take this responsibility very seriously“, says Christian Hamann, one of the founders of hep.
The report is a result of several months of intense collaboration between the management and the business divisions. Not only does it serve as a status report but also contains goals and targeted measures to be implemented and further developed in the coming months.
